Match Rules
These rules apply to every match played on Keyers. They form part of our Terms of Service. Staff decisions under these rules are final.

Platforms & Epic Names
- When a player's platform or Epic name is wrong, they have 7 minutes from the moment a moderator joins the conversation to fix it.
- If the player resolves it by switching accounts or platforms, the game must be restarted.
- Changing the Epic name on a Keyers account does not affect the existing score, but the game must be restarted.
- Moderators may, at their discretion, permit a player to correct their Epic name earlier.
When in Doubt, Keep Playing
- Even if you suspect your opponent is breaking a rule, we strongly encourage you to finish the match.
- Playing the game out will never count against you.
- If your report turns out to be valid, the match will either be replayed or resolved in your favor.
AFK & Availability
- Every player gets 10 minutes in the lobby to get ready at the start of a match. In tournaments, this drops to 7 minutes.
- To prove the opposing team failed to join within 10 minutes, you'll need chat and/or join-log screenshots as evidence.
- If one or more teammates are missing, the match may proceed short-handed.
- Both sides must agree before a match can be cancelled.
- While an opponent is AFK, you may only secure one kill against them at a time.
In-Game Glitches
- If a glitch occurs, the rounds affected by it do not count.
- Repeatable exploits and two-sided game mechanics are not treated as glitches.
- A crash is not counted as a bug, since there's no reliable way to tell whether it was intentional.
Party, Host, Map & Region
- Playing in the wrong region means the match is reset.
- The host plays as Team 1 in-game and opponents move to Team 2. Points already awarded to the wrong teams still stand.
- If the host is wrong, all completed matches count, and the non-hosting team may quit and request the host after the current round.
- If the map is wrong, all completed matches count, and after the current round the default Keyers recommended map may be selected.
- Kicking your opponent from the party mid-round is an automatic round loss.
Observing / Spectating
- Any round with an outside spectator is reset, and the team that didn't invite them is awarded a point.
- Keep the lobby as private as possible.
- Players who join the lobby but do not spectate will not trigger a redo.
Toxicity
Excessive toxicity is not tolerated and may result in a ban. Most milder forms are acceptable — mods and admins have the final say. Ask in our Discord for the full toxicity guidelines.
Disconnections
- Respawning mid-round is not allowed, as it can be used to deny opponents their earned siphon.
- If a teammate leaves after a round starts, the remaining players must finish it. The round is a loss only if everyone leaves.
- If a teammate leaves before a round begins, that round does not count and the game is paused.
- If a game is paused longer than 7 minutes, all absent players are barred from the rest of the match.
- Disconnects caused by lag, crashes, or other hardware issues — frustrating as they are — do not warrant a redo, since intent can't be proven.
Deception
- Misleading your opponents about the rules, expectations, setup, or anything else that directly affects the match is prohibited. Bluffing about your skill level, while not encouraged, is allowed.
- An alternative or additional rule holds only if it's enforceable and at least one player from each team agrees to it by voice or chat, with evidence.
- Trying to complete a game or report a player while a match is still in progress counts as deception.
- Stop playing the moment you mark a match complete or report your opponent. If you leave mid-round and your report is invalid, the other side earns a point — so when unsure, finish the match first.
